Yandri Lestapier pitches for Guantánamo. He went 7-5 with a 4.50 ERA in 2007-2008 and walked 60, second in the league behind Maikel Folch. Yandri has gone 17-23 with four saves and a 3.66 ERA in five seasons through that year. He entered 2008-2009 with the lowest career ERA of any hurler on Guantánamo's staff.

In 2008-2009, Yandri was 5-9 with a 7.18 ERA, allowing 119 hits and 41 walks in 89 innings. He was tied for sixth in the league in losses, third in runs allowed (71) and tied for first in home runs allowed (18, even with Carlos Yánes).
