Chen was drafted by the CTBC Brothers in the 7th round of the 2016 CPBL Draft. He spent his early career in the minors, and set the CPBL minor league single-season hit record with 91. He led the minors in hits and batting average the three consecutive years from 2017 to 2019, and led the league in steals from 2018 to 2019. However, Chen couldn't transfer his good batting to the major league. He hit .207/.213/.253 from 2017 to 2019. Chen finally broke out in 2020, hitting .285/.350/.374 with 8 steals. He batted .243/.329/.384 in 2021, and had a career year the next year. Chen recorded a .300/.349/.395 batting line with 12 steals in 2022.
