Biographical Information[edit]
Woody Hunt has been a longtime college coach.
Hunt became head coach of Cumberland University in 1981. Through 2008, he was 1,193-489-3. His team has made the NAIA College World Series 11 times through 2010. They won the 2004 NAIA College World Series and 2010 NAIA College World Series and were second in the 1995 NAIA College World Series and 2006 NAIA College World Series. He set the school record of 59 wins in 2004. In 2006, he was named Rawlings National Coach of the Year. He also managed the Watertown Pirates in 1985. Hunt retired after the 2021 season, moving into the Assistant Athletic Director role at Cumberland. Hunt's son Ryan replaced him as baseball coach.
