Won-jun Chang is a pitcher for the Lotte Giants.
Chang debuted in the Korea Baseball Organization in 2004, going 3-8 with a 5.63 ERA for the Lotte Giants. The teenager had significant control issues, walking 62 in 84 2/3 IP. In 2005, he improved to 5-6, 5.11 and cut his walk total to 58 while increasing his innings to 107 1/3.
Chang was better still in 2006, with a 7-12, 3.61 record. He whiffed 130 in 179 2/3 IP while walking 84. In 2007, the southpaw was 8-12 with a 4.67 ERA for the Giants. He pitched for South Korea in the 2007 Baseball World Cup, going 1-1 with a 2.12 ERA and striking out 15 in 17 innings while allowing 11 hits and walking none. He beat the Spanish national team but lost to Team USA, the eventual champions. He tied Ying-Chieh Lin for 6th in the Cup in strikeouts.
In 2008, Chang continued his progress as he had his first winning record ever. He went 12-10 with a 3.53 ERA and tied Min-han Son for the team lead in victories, tied for 4th in the KBO.
