Biographical Information[edit]

Relief pitcher Wilson Rivera played in the Atlanta Braves minor league system from 2007 to 2013 and joined the independent ranks for 2014.

Originally an outfielder, he played for the DSL Braves from 2007 to 2009 and for the GCL Braves in 2010 with occasional, but fleeting, success. He converted to relief pitching for 2011 and posted a 0.90 ERA in 17 appearances for the Danville Braves, striking out 44 batters in 30 innings while allowing only 16 hits. In 2012, he posted a 2.88 mark with 70 strikeouts in 56 1/3 innings for the Rome Braves and in 2013, he was 6-0 with a 2.60 ERA and 86 strikeouts in 62 1/3 innings. Despite his success, the Braves let him go following the season and he latched on with the Southern Illinois Miners of the independent Frontier League for 2014.
