The brother of Charlie Spikes, William Spikes played one year in the minor leagues. With the 1968 GCL Pirates, he was error-free in 9 games at first base and had one miscue in 15 outfield games. He hit .257/~.329/.298 in 35 games overall, with 12 runs and 12 RBI in 74 AB.
