Biographical Information[edit]
Bill Johnson played in the minors then was college coach.
He was All-State in baseball, basketball and football in high school then played all three at Columbia Basin. At Idaho, he was All-Pacific Coast Conference at short. In 1961, he hit .223/.303/.239 for the Tri-City Atoms, used as a backup middle infielder. He coached baseball, basketball and football at Connell High School, winning three baseball titles and two football ones. He then was 217-173 as head coach of Spokane Falls Community College from 1969-1979, coaching Craig Mitchell. He then scouted for the Chicago Cubs and Kansas City Royals. He was assistant baseball and basketball coach at Spokane Falls before retiring in 2018.
