Biographical Information[edit]
William Coon played with the 1875 and 1876 Philadelphia Athletics, appearing in 58 games. He pitched twice in the latter year, with a 5.14 ERA, but was mostly a right fielder and catcher. The Athletics did not field a team in 1877, so William played with the Athletic team of the League Alliance. He continued to play ball through age 28. After baseball, he was a mail clerk [1].
