Biographical Information[edit]
Willard House pitched 19 games for the Detroit Tigers in 1913. He is sometimes listed as "Fred House".
He was the first of several major leaguers with the last name "House". His hometown, Cabool, MO, is a town which now has around 1,000 people located in south-central Missouri.
In a photo taken in 1913, he towers over the shorter Donie Bush. Fred was 6 ' 3 " while Bush was 5 ' 6 ", but the difference looks bigger than that.
Fred also pitched for Kewanee in 1912-13, winning in double figures each year.
