Biographical Information[edit]
On June 25, 1903, pitching for the Boston Beaneaters, Wiley Piatt became the last pitcher to start and lose both ends of a doubleheader while pitching two complete games. He lost to the St. Louis Cardinals, 1-0 and 5-3. It was his final major league season, and he went 9-14, 3.18 for Boston.
