Biographical Information

Organist Wilbur Snapp was best remembered for his ejection from a minor league game.

A World War II veteran, Snapp ran a music store in Ohio for many years before retiring to Florida. He then became the organist for Philadelphia Phillies spring training games as well as Clearwater Phillies games at Jack Russell Stadium. During a June 26th, 1985 game against the Osceola Astros, he played "Three Blind Mice" following a disputed call at first base. Umpire Kevin O'Connor was not amused and ejected Snapp from the game. This earned the organist national attention.

Snapp remained the organist at Jack Russell Stadium until 1997, when they switched to recorded music. He died in 2003 at age 83.
