Biographical Information[edit]

Theodore "Whitey" Guese pitched for the 1901 Reds and had a long minor league career. Among locations not listed in the minor league database, it appears that he played for Fort Wayne and Detroit (in the Western League) in the late 1890's. He spent several years with the Little Rock Travelers, and two times posted a record of 19-9.

When he joined the New Castle Quakers in 1898, it was said that he was from Wapakoneta, perhaps best known as the boyhood home of astronaut Neil Armstrong.
