Biographical Information

Wesley Botha was signed by the Atlanta Braves but the Johannesburg native never got a chance to play in the minors. He did pitch for the South African national team in the 1999 All Africa Games. Facing the Ghanaian national team, he won a 28-3 decision, with a mercy rule five-inning complete game. He allowed four hits and two walks, striking out seven. He allowed half of the six runs given up by South Africa in the five-game event.

He is not related to South African team catcher Kyle Botha.
