Steven Wesley Shaw

Wes Shaw is a college coach and former professional baseball player.

Shaw got his start as an assistant at the University of Tulsa (1975-1977), then had a head coaching gig at Centennial Senior High School from 1977-1981. He returned to the college ranks as assistant coach with Santa Monica College (1981-1982), Chaffey College (1982-1984) and as a assistant at Los Angeles Harbor College (1984-1989). In 1990 he was hired by Quad Cities Baseball Club, a NBC collegiate baseball organization as General Manager and Field Manager (1990-1994). He was head coach at Pomona-Pitzer College (1994-1996) and Culver-Stockton College (1996-1998). He took Culver-Stockton to the 1998 NAIA College World Series.

After Culver-Stockton College, he was hired by the Anaheim Angels as an area scout. In 2000 he was promoted to Regional Scouting Supervisor, Southwest region. Shaw later founded the Southern California Baseball Academy in Newport Beach, CA. This professional rehabilitation center was later changed to the Diamond Academy specializing in baseball instruction to the professional and elite amateur athlete. He re-entered the coaching ranks as a assistant at Sonora High School (2016-2018), Sunny Hills High School (2018-2021) and La Serna High School (2022). He returned to the college ranks as the inaugural head coach at Southern California Leadership University. August 2022, Shaw was hired as the Head Baseball Coach at University High School in Irvine, California. Shaw has a 553-147 (.790) win-loss record as a head coach (15 yrs.) and a 395-200 (.664) win-loss record as a assistant coach (18 yrs.).
