Biographical Information[edit]

Wei-Han Chen played in the CPBL for 6 years. His cousin is former minor league pitcher Hsin-Chieh Lin.

Chen was drafted by the CTBC Brothers in the 9th round of the 2014 CPBL Draft, and he hit .326/.341/.395 in 23 games in his rookie year. He was 2-for-11 in the 2014 Taiwan Series, but the Lamigo Monkeys beat the Brothers in 5 games. Chen then spent his next three seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues, only having 57 at-bats with the big club in 2015. He hit .299/.338.330 in 197 at-bats in 2018, but he slumped to .224/.224/.224 in 2019, and the Brothers placed him in the minor league for the entire 2020 season. Chen recorded a .351/.396/.445 batting line there, and he broke the minor league record with 108 hits in a season (tied with Chi-Hung Liu). He recorded a .269/.305/.321 batting line in 34 games in 2021, but he only played 15 games combined in the next two seasons, then he announced his retirement after the 2023 season.

Overall, Chen had hit .276/.307/.309 with 131 hits in 6 seasons in the CPBL.
