Biographical Information[edit]
Webb Schultz, who played one game in the majors, was the first major league player to come out of University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
The Racquet, a university newspaper for La Crosse, noted in February 1920 that "Wilbert Schultz" of the PhysEd department had withdrawn from school to play baseball.
A Webb Schultz is listed as the basketball coach for Delavan High School in 1980.
The book Play by Play by Ronald Austin Smith states that Webb Schultz was Smith's gym teacher when Smith was a child in Delavan, and he later coached Smith in basketball and baseball.
