Washington Park (Los Angeles)
Washington Park was built for around $20,000 during the 1910-11 off-season by the Los Angeles Angels and the Vernon Tigers of the Pacific Coast League. The Angels' previous Chutes Park was torn down and the new stadium was built on the site. The new park had a concrete foundation, an underground sprinkler system, a grandstand with twice the capacity and parking for the more and more popular cars fans were now driving. The new facility opened with an exhibition game against the Boston Red Sox.
