Biographical Information[edit]

Walt Fields served in the US Navy during World War II. He played in the Brooklyn Dodgers system in 1946, hitting .266 with two home runs in 49 games between the Daytona Beach Islanders and Valdosta Dodgers. He fielded .992 in the outfield, with 9 assists to one error. He later became head baseball coach at Marian University. He also scouted for the Chicago Cubs.
