Wade Mackey has pitched in the minors.
Mackey went 21-7 with 10 saves, a 1.51 ERA and 227 K in 199 IP in high school. He had a 4-3, 3.18 record as a freshman at Baylor in 2007 then fell to 2-3, 7.43 as a sophomore. He had a 8-5, 4.41 record for the 2011 Fort Worth Cats in his pro debut. In the Fort Worth dispersal draft, he was picked by the Lincoln Saltdogs; in 2012, he was 6-4 with a 4.93 ERA for that club. He then pitched for the South African national team in the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. In a make-or-break game against France, the righty allowed two runs in four innings before being relieved by Hein Robb; South Africa won, 5-2, in 11 innings.
