Biographical Information[edit]

Vladimir Kadiev was the first relief pitcher for the Ukrainian national team in a European Championship. In their debut, the 1995 European Championship, he replaced Oleg Venger with a 3-0 deficit in the third against the powerful Netherlands. He went 2 1/3 innings and allowed four hits and three runs (all earned) before Sergey Makarov took over. He made four appearances overall in the event, tying Venger for the team lead, and his 10.03 ERA was slightly ahead of the team mark. In the 1995 Euros, only Emiliano Ginanneschi pitched more games.
