Vinegar Bend is located in southwestern Alabama, near the border of Mississippi, 40 miles northwest of Mobile, AL. The town gave Wilmer Mizell his colorful nickname; some sources list him as being born here, while others state he was born in Leakesville, MS, which is just across the border.
