Biographical Information[edit]
Vic Voltaggio began his career in the Midwest League in 1973. He moved up to the Carolina League (1974), Southern League (1975), International League (1976), and finally the American League in 1977.
He was behind the plate for Roger Clemens' first 20-strikeout game against the Seattle Mariners on April 29, 1986. He umpired his final game in 1996. In total, he worked 2,118 games in the regular season. He was part of the umpiring crew for the 1989 World Series and 1987 All-Star Game, as well as for three American League Championship Series (in 1981, 1985 and 1990).
