Biographical Information[edit]
Vern Hasty has been a manager and coach at several levels.
Hasty's high school team won a Nebraska state title in 1978. From 1985-1989, Vern served in the US Marines. He was pitching coach of Northern Illinois University from 1991-1993 then guided the College of DuPage from 1994-1998. From 2003-2005, he was at Harper College then guided Chicago State University in 2006-2007. He drew media attention for calling the police after an umpire ejecting him from a game, saying the umpire had committed disorderly conduct. He then coached Slovakia's Trnava Angels from 2008-2010 and was an assistant coach for Slovakia in the 2010 European Junior Championship Qualifiers. He then returned to the US to coach summer college baseball.
