Biographical Information

Vaisel Acosta made a fine debut with Matanzas, winning Cuba's Rookie of the Year award for 1992-1993. He tied for the league lead in 2001-2002 with seven sacrifice flies. He hit .305/.394/.422 as the Matanzas DH in 2007-2008 to bring his career average to .309 and slugging percentage to .434.

Acosta hit .269/.332/.393 in 2008-2009 and fielded .947 in left field in his final season.
