"A man has to have goals - for a day, for a lifetime - and that was mine, to have people say, 'There goes Ted Williams, the greatest hitter who ever lived.'" - Ted Williams

On April 30th 1986 is when I began my addiction with everything baseball. I remember the date because, everywhere I turned people were talking about this kid Clemens who stuck out 20 Mariners the prior night. That year I got into collecting cards, and discovered the joy and the pain that came with being a Boston Red Sox fan.

Since that time I have played in college ball, joined SABR, and read every book I can. My interests are many and include Amateur Baseball, top prospects, the deadball era, player biographies, statistics, the journalism throughout the years, and of course the Sox.

My favorite player of all time is Dwight Evans (Dewey). And person I would most want to have a conversation with is Branch Rickey, though I don't think that I could ever stop asking him questions.
