Biographical Information[edit]

Tzu-Wei Lin pitched in the CPBL and the Chinese Taipei national baseball team.

Lin represented Taiwan in the 2013 World Junior Championship, 2014 U-21 Baseball World Cup and the 2015 Universiade. He had a 3.45 ERA in 15 2/3 innings in the World Junior Championship. The Uni-President Lions drafted Lin in the first round of the 2015 CPBL Draft. Lin made Taiwan's roster for the 2015 Premier 12. The young southpaw only pitched one inning, and allowed a run but struck out two. Lin pitched well in his rookie year, when he recorded a 3.04 ERA in 14 games. Nevertheless, this year was the only productive season that the talented pitcher had in his career so far (as of early 2023). Lin suffered from several left hand injuries, even undergoing Tommy John surgery during the 2020 season. The injuries have limited Lin to only 93 games pitched in 7 years. Lin recovered in 2023, and he started 7 games with a 1-2 record. He had a 3.20 ERA in 12 appearances combined in this season.

Lin's repertoire included a fastball (peak 93.2 mph), knuckle curve, slider and palmball.
