Biographical Information[edit]
Ty LaForest came to the majors in August 1945 and played a lot of third base for the Boston Red Sox, appearing in 52 games (45 of which were at third base) during August and September of that year.
LaForest was born in Canada but his family had moved to the Boston, MA area when he was only 4; he was 28 at the time of his big league stint.
His minor league career lasted through 1946, and he died in May 1947 of a heart ailment brought on by pneumonia.
