Biographical Information

Tung-Sheng Hung was chairman of the Brother Hotels. He founded their baseball team in 1984; it was nominally an amateur team, though the players were well-compensated. It helped lay the groundwork for the Chinese Professional Baseball League, Hung being called the father of professional baseball in Taiwan. The team became the Brother Elephants when the CPBL formed. Hung was Executive Secretary of the CPBL from 1987-1991. He was inducted into the Taiwan Baseball Hall of Fame in its inaugural class of 2014. He was the only living member of that inaugural class.
