Tseng represented Taiwan in the 2008 Haarlemse Honkbalweek, 2008 World University Championship, 2010 World University Championship and 2012 Haarlemse Honkbalweek. He was drafted by the Lamigo Monkeys in the first round of the 2012 CPBL Draft, and he went 0-3 with a 6.75 ERA in his rookie year. However, Tseng suffered from a right elbow injury in June, and his 2013 season ended. He then missed the 2014 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery, and his ERA was 5.03 in 19 games in the minors in 2015. The Monkeys then released him, and Tseng announced his retirement.

Tseng’s repertoire included a fastball (peak 91.9 mph), changeup, slider, sinker and curveball.
