Biographical Information[edit]

Troy Marrow played third base at North Carolina Central University from 2011-2015 until his senior year was cut short by injury. Academically he earned a degree in Sport and Fitness Administration/Management. He continued on to graduate school at NCCU earning a master's in the same discipline and also worked as a baseball graduate assistant coach during the 2016-2017 seasons. Marrow then moved to George Washington University as a volunteer assistant coach for the Colonials, but only stayed there until April 2018.

At this point his path diverged from that of a typical coach. Marrow was hired in May 2018 as a Baseball Operations Fellow with the San Francisco Giants as a member of the inaugural class of the MLB's diversity fellowship program. This is an initiative from the League to provide candidates with diverse backgrounds front office positions and jobs in the commissioner's office. Marrow stayed with the Giants through 2019. Outside of baseball he also became involved with a youth mentoring organization called Ripple Effect 22 and continued to work with them in 2020. In 2021 he spent part of his year as the Athletic Director / Coordinator Character & Culture at the Baltimore Collegiate School for Boys until the Baltimore Orioles came a-calling.

The Orioles hired Marrow to work as a Fundamentals Coach with the FCL Orioles in 2022-2023.
