Biographical Information[edit]

Travis Bowyer was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 20th round of the 1999 amateur draft. He was signed by scout John Wilson and made his pro debut that summer. Dubbed a future closer by Florida Marlins general manager Larry Beinfest, Bowyer was acquired by the Fish following his big league debut in the winter of 2005. Injuries prohibited him from making another big league appearance; in 8 games as a Twin, he struck out 12 in 9 2/3 innings with a 5.59 ERA.
