Biographical Information

Relief Pitcher Travis Ballew has played in the Houston Astros minor league system since 2012 (through 2014). He was drafted by the club in the 23rd round of the 2012 amateur draft.

With the Tri-City ValleyCats in 2012, he was 5-1 with a 1.62 ERA in 23 appearances, striking out 44 batters in 39 innings. In 2013, he was 4-5 with 21 saves and 78 strikeouts in 50 games (53 innings) for the Lancaster JetHawks. He began 2014 with the Double-A Corpus Christi Hooks.
