Biographical Information[edit]
Most famous for a home run he gave up, Tracy Stallard pitched seven years in the big leagues. His best year was 1965, when he went 11-8 for a St. Louis Cardinals team that finished a bit under .500.
Pitching for the Boston Red Sox, Stallard gave up Roger Maris's 61st home run on October 1, 1961, giving Maris the all-time single-season home run record (at the time). It was the only run he gave up in a 1-0 defeat that day.
Stallard is the only hitter ever with at least 200 career plate appearances and no walks.
