Biographical Information[edit]
Tony Vitello is a college coach and 2024 College World Series champion.
Vitello was an infielder in college and was second team all-Big 12 Conference in 2001 and 2002 at Missouri. After graduation, he immeiately went into coaching.
Vitello was an assistant coach at his alma mater in 2003-2010, Texas Christian University in 2011-2013, and University of Arkansas in 2014-2017. He then became head coach of University of Tennessee in 2018. He has led Tennessee to the College World Series in 2021, 2023, and 2024, winning it all in 2024.
Vitello also served as the associate head coach for the Salina Packers of the California Collegiate League in 2002.
Vitello's father was a hall-of-fame soccer and baseball coach for 46 years at De Smet Jesuit High School.
