Biographical Information[edit]
Tony Saunders was drafted by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays with their first pick in the 1997 expansion draft. In 1999 Saunders broke his arm while pitching against the Texas Rangers. While rehabbing the following year he once again broke his arm forcing him to retire. In 2005 he attempted a comeback with the Baltimore Orioles and pitched in spring training. He was assigned to the AA Bowie BaySox but never appeared in a game. In 2005 he pitched in the Golden Baseball League for the Mesa Miners.
