Tomas Jansson has played in Sweden's Elitserien. In 2004, he was 1 for 9 with a walk for the Rättvik Butchers. He returned in 2007 with Gefle as a 1B/C and hit .303/.386/.456 but allowed 53 steals in 55 tries as a backstop. In 2008, he fell to .204/.320/.318 and gave up 43 swipes while only throwing out three runners. He hit .250/.354/.300 in 2009.

He made the Swedish national team roster for the 2010 European Championship.
