Biographical Information[edit]

Tobasco Tom Tuckey pitched in the major leagues in 1908-09. While he appeared in only 25 games, he had 162.2 innings. Most of his minor league career was spent in the Connecticut State League.

He pitched a shutout in his first major league game on August 11, 1908.

The New York Times of April 8, 1911 announced that Waterbury, the 1910 champions of the "Connecticut League" would play a game on the following Sunday against the Lincoln Giants, an all-star team of black players. Tuckey was mentioned in the article, as was Pop Lloyd.
