Biographical Information[edit]
OF/1B Tom Sutaris played for the Ohio Valley Redcoats in 1993-1994 and 1996. He hit .349/?/.474 his first year, tying Billy Brice for 3rd in the new Frontier League in average. In '94, he batted .257/.340/.419 and tied Brice for 8th in the league in home runs (8). In 1996, he produced at a .297/.375/.513 clip with 18 doubles and 52 runs in 65 games, going 9-for-11 in steals. He tied for 6th in doubles, tied for 9th in home runs (8) and ranked 6th in slugging. Sutaris served as the Redcoats hitting coach in 1995.
Sutaris was an assistant coach at Northwood University (1995-1996), St. Edward's University (2010-2011), University of Texas (2015-2017), and University of the Incarnate Word in fall 2017. He was an assistant coach at Toms River High School South from 1999-2003. He was head coach at Barnegat High School in 2004-2009 and built the program from scratch. He was hitting coach of the Lancaster JetHawks in 2018-2019 and was scheduled to be hitting coach of the Hartford Yard Goats in 2020 before the season was cancelled due to Covid-19 then did coach Hartford in 2021-2023 and Spokane Indians in 2024.
