Tom Fairweather
Tom Fairweather was involved in minor league baseball for over 40 years. He was secretary for the 1907 Sioux City Packers and became part-owner (of the then-Sioux City Soos in 1909. In 1912, he became owner of the Des Moines Boosters. He served on the city council of Des Moines, IA (1916-1917) then was mayor in 1918-1919. He was a salesman for the A.J. Reach Company from 1921-1935. He was president of the Western Association (1934-1942, 1946-1949; the league did not operate from 1943-1945) and Three-I League (1937-1942, 1946-1950, also shut down due to World War II) before poor health forced him to retire.
