Tom Eller

Biographical Information[edit]

Tom Eller played college ball at Cecil College and Wilmington University and graduated in 2005 with a degree in general studies. A year later he also earned a master's degree from Millersville University.

Eller began his coaching career at Cecil College in the fall of 2004 before moving to Millersville where he served as a graduate assistant coach for the 2005 season. He returned to Wilmington in 2006 for one year as an assistant coach. In the fall of 2006 Harford Community College hired Eller as their head coach, a position he held through 2018. In his final season Eller reached 400 career wins and led the Fighting Owls to its fifth Region XX championship under his guidance.

The Baltimore Orioles hired Eller in 2019 as a hitting coach. He started the year with the Delmarva Shorebirds and then changed to the Aberdeen IronBirds in mid-June. Eller was slated to work as the Frederick Keys hitting coach in 2020 before COVID-19 shut down the minor league season. In 2021 he returned to the IronBirds as their hitting coach.

Even before leaving the Orioles after the 2021 season, Eller had started working as a hitting instructor for Absolute Sports Performance. He continued with this training organization in 2022.
