Tom Downey (scout)

Tom Downey was a scout for the Brooklyn Dodgers whose territory was primarily although not exclusively in southern California. He worked in tandem with his wife: he was the talent evaluator, whereas his wife was the negotiator, who would discuss terms of the future signee's contract.

Among the players he signed were Duke Snider, Bob Ross, Johnny Van Cuyk, Dee Fondy, Vic Lombardi, Erv Palica, Dick Whitman and Irv Noren.
