Biographical Information[edit]
Infielder Tom Carey saw action in parts of eight seasons, with two seasons of more than 130 games as a member of the St. Louis Browns. He hit .273 with 58 runs scored in 1936 and followed that with a .275 season in 1937. He would not return to the bigs until 1939 with the Boston Red Sox, never playing more than 54 games again. Tom entered the Army in February 1943 and was discharged in October 1945. After his military service, he played a final game for the Sawx in 1946, serving as a coach in 1946 and 1947.
