Biographical Information[edit]

Tom Boleska completed his fifth minor league season in 2011.

Boleska pitched for the Canadian junior national team in 2003-2004. After high school, he redshirted at Miami of Ohio in 2005. In 2006, he pitched 20 games (9 starts) for High Point University, saving four contests. He saved 7 games and had a 3.16 ERA for High Point in 2007, striking out 53 in 37 innings. The Pittsburgh Pirates picked him in the 35th round of the 2007 amateur draft.

Boleska pitched in 2007 for the GCL Pirates (0 R in 2 IP) and the State College Spikes (2 R in 6 2/3 IP, 9 K). In 2008, he went 3-3 with 5 saves and a 2.36 ERA for the Hickory Crawdads, allowing 28 hits and fanning 45 in 42 innings. He also tossed three scoreless innings and won a game for the Lynchburg Hillcats.

Boleska started the next year with the 2009 Lynchburg Hillcats.
