Biographical Information[edit]
Togie Pittinger won 115 games in his eight years in the majors, and was twice second in the league in victories. He also led the National League in a slew of negative categories while pitching for the Boston Beaneaters in 1903. Going 18-22, 3.48, he topped the circuit in losses, hits allowed, walks allowed, earned runs allowed and home runs allowed, a very rare combination.
He died of Bright's Disease 1 1/2 years after he left major league baseball.
