Biographical Information[edit]
Tino Burgos played in the independent leagues then was a college coach.
Burgos was All-State twice in high school. He hit .209/.244/.279 in 14 games for the 2001 Kalamazoo Kings, battled injury, then batted .264/.368/.342 for the '03 Kings, fielding .957 as their main second baseman. He later taught middle school, then was coach and taught social sciences at North Miami Beach Senior High School and Hialeah Gardens Senior High School. He was head coach of Florida Memorial University from 2016-2024, winning the 2023 Black College World Series.
