Thierry Parduyns
Biographical Information[edit]
Thierry Parduyns played in the First Division and for the Belgian national team.
He was 1-11 with a 9.24 ERA for the 1995 Namur Angels, hitting .368/.362/.579 in his First Division debut. He led the league in losses, hits allowed and runs allowed. [1] In 1997, he had a 2-6, 5.30 record and batted .217/.413/.239. He tied for 4th in defeats. [2] He was 4-0 with a 6.27 ERA for the 1998 Angels, helping the team to its first title (and only one through 2023); he batted .353/.396/.511. Given his high putout total, he appears to have been a catcher or first baseman regularly. [3]
Despite not appearing in Belgium's top league, he was with their team in the 2001 European Championship; only Andre De Wit was older for the team. He pitched one game, replacing Tom Janssen against Italy. He was a bright spot in a 10-1 loss, allowing four hits and one walk in 4 1/3 shutout innings to close out the contest. Only Michael Leys and Dave Eyckholt had more innings with a 0.00 ERA for Belgium in the event. [4] He was 2-2 with a 2.25 ERA for Namur in '06. [5]
