Texas-Brownsville dropped its baseball program following the 2012 season. From 2013 to 2015, the school changed their mascot to the Ocelots, but did not sponsor baseball at the time. In 2015, the university merged with University of Texas-Pan American to become the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
