The Bat Boy & His Violin
The Bat Boy & His Violin, by Gavin Curtis, is a picture book about the dying days of the Negro Leagues, set in 1948. The manager of a struggling team convinces his son to be the team's bat boy though the son would rather play violin. He takes his violin with him to the games and the music inspires the players to higher level of performance.
