Biographical Information[edit]

Tetsuya Iwasaki pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 5 years.

Iwasaki was drafted by the Seibu Lions in the 6th round of the 2006 NPB draft, and he notched 13 holds with a 2.82 ERA in 55 appearances in 2007. His ERA rose to 5.57 in 20 games in 2008, and he pitched 27 games with a 4.50 ERA and 9 holds in 2009. Iwasaki only pitched 3 games combined in the next two seasons, and he was released after the 2011 season. He then went 5-0 with a 2.20 ERA for the Edinburg Roadrunners in 2012, and he had a 2.31 ERA in 10 games with the Tigres de Quintana Roo in 2013. Iwwasaki pitched for the Ehime Mandarin Pirates after leaving Mexico, and he announced his retirement before the 2014 season. He was an assistant coach for Kokushikan University from 2017 to 2020.

Overall, Iwasaki was 7-5 with a 3.93 ERA, collected 22 holds and 2 saves in 105 appearances, struck out 60 and pitched 105 1/3 innings in 5 seasons in NPB.
