Template talk:Featured Birthday

From BR Bullpen

Can this be updated in advance? I try to do the day's "Today in Baseball" template a day ahead of time so it's ready for people who log in at 2 AM. If the Featured Birthday can be handled in the same way, I'd be interested in finding out how. - --Mischa 12:28, 13 February 2007 (EST)

Never mind. I see it's an automatic feature. Cool. - --Mischa 08:28, 14 February 2007 (EST)

I've replaced a few dead players from the list but there might be more. Does someone want to go player-by-player. Is there any way to draw up an alert system to know when someone is dead and needs to be yanked? - --Mischa 21:05, 29 November 2008 (EST)

Re: March 27. I replaced Wes Covington, who passed away last year, with Candy Sierra - a perfectly random choice. --Philippe 02:53, 27 March 2012 (EDT)

Should September 16's featured birthday be changed, considering it is currently a player who was convicted of sexual assault with two minors? Just a thought. (Perhaps I'm being overly sensitive, though.) (HairMetalLives 01:32, 16 September 2012 (EDT))

I've changed it, but so can you ! The names should be almost random, so there' sno harm of changing a few once in a while. --Philippe 01:42, 16 September 2012 (EDT)

Oh. I didn't know that; I thought that this was one of those things that moderators only could edit. Had I known, I would have. Sorry. (HairMetalLives 15:04, 16 September 2012 (EDT))

I don't see why being a criminal scumbag should prevent you from being featured. We can feature both good and bad. - --Mischa 13:32, 19 September 2012 (EDT)

Significance of subject[edit]

Should we be trying to have one of the more noteworthy people born on each day as the person listed? AutomaticStrikeout 19:13, 11 February 2013 (EST)

I think people will look up those pages regularly anyhow. It's neat to find out more about some of the more obscure players as well. Overall, I think a balance of stars, everyday players and cup-of-coffee guys would be ideal. - --Mischa 19:31, 11 February 2013 (EST)
